VESPA: Virtual European Solar and Planetary Access

Virtual Observatory for Planetary Science, connecting all sorts of data in the field, and providing modern tools to retrieve, cross-correlate, and display data and results of scientific analyses.

 

 

 

The experimental data will be available at the CODULAB website where, not only the scattering matrices but also detailed description of the samples (size distribution tables, SEM images, origin..), will be provided. We will include a link at RoadMap repository to the CODULAB database, in order not to duplicate data and avoid potential errors.

 

New data

As soon as new data (Level2) will be created and published, they will be shared here.

 

VESPA: Virtual European Solar and Planetary Access

As soon as new space data (Level2) will be created withing the project, they will be incorporated into the VESPA portal.

 

Micro-physical model

Electrical charges on grains will be specified. Aggregation of dust in clouds will be described in view of electrical charges and dielectrophoresis.

 

Dust lifting and transport through the atmosphere

The aerodynamic cross sections will evolve from lifting to aggregation, which will be quantified. This directly translates to sedimentation velocities or gas-grain coupling times of grains. The dependence with height (pressure) at the transition from low to high Knudsen numbers will be given.

 

Radiative dust and cloud module

This module will take into account the new or improved laboratory measurements.

 

Computed database of optical properties

Computed database of optical properties of Martian dust will be obtained with the experimentally-validated models.
